The story behind The Last Lullaby...

In support of baby loss awareness week (9th - 15th October 2015), Itty Bitty Beats has written a song called 'The Last Lullaby' about grieving the loss of a baby.

This song is very close to their hearts, as Jenny and Lucy know many people who have lost babies through miscarriage, still birth, neonatal difficulty and sudden infant death.

In 2009 Jenny's son Leo died at 3 days old in the arms of his parents, after battling lung and kidney problems caused by Posterior Urethral Valves.

Jenny and Lucy have written this song to help the grieving process for anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby: parents, grandparents, family, friends, anyone who has lost a child.

The loss of a baby is devastating and the grieving process never ends. The baby or child may no longer be here but they are never forgotten. The Last Lullaby has been written to grieve to, to cry to, to remember to.

lyrics

The Last Lullaby

This is our last lullaby for you darling
I'll find you in the lull of the evening
Where the sunset draws its lines
Your heart will be in mine (in my heart)

Atop the trees are the dreams that await you
They shall wing their way to your heart
My love, my child, my sweet
May this gentle peace anoint you

I'll feel you in the sun
I'll hear you in the wind
I'll see you in my dreams
I'll hold you in my heart

I'll find you in the quiet, or the swell of the ocean
I'll find you in the dawn of the hurt
Your memory may sneak
From my eyes unto my cheek
My darling

I'll feel you in the sun
I'll hear you in the wind
I'll see you in my dreams
I'll hold you in my heart

This is our last lullaby for you darling
